Gillian studied fashion design in Johannesburg at Leggats Academy of Design. She graduated in 1992 and worked for several years in the clothing industry as a pattern cutter and clothing production supervisor.

After moving to Cape Town, Gillian found her niche in the film industry.  She is passionate about clothing, styling and the process involved in creating characters.

Her background in design and manufacture is a major asset to any costume team.
